We are excited to announce that we are recruiting for an Industrial Engineering Intern to fill roles in the work area areas of wafer operations and technology panning to help deliver our next generation storage technologies.

    The role

    You will work as part of an established team reporting to the Manager defining and delivering on future data storage technologies and products. If you’re excited by new technologies, are naturally creative and passionate about seeing ideas come to life then this is the ideal research role for you.

    • Are responsible for key services including capacity planning, capital budget planning and design of factory layouts, factory staffing and factory modelling.
    • Design, develop, and apply engineering, mathematical models, simulation and optimization models to drive solutions to complex manufacturing problems.
    • Support and improve the performance of Manufacturing operations
    • Play a critical role in the execution of Seagate’s Product and Technology Roadmap
    • Positioned globally to represent the Springtown site at a Commodity and Business Level

    What you'll do

    This role is an internship opportunity within the Operations and Technology Planning Team and Springtown. The successful candidate will be involved in supporting the team’s work in relation to cycle time analysis (data analytics), capacity assessment (including implementation of capacity improvement projects), capital install and qualification (including defining and delivering infrastructure and supporting systems). The successful candidate may also be involved in developing mathematical models for optimization, scenario planning in simulation and/or new reporting deliverables to increase capacity or to improve cycle time.

    You will be a self-starter with the ability to solve problems quickly and collaborate with cross functional teams to maintain and meet critical organisational goals and objectives. You will be a creative thinker with the ability to bring innovative ideas to the team

    Applicants must be in an Engineering or Mathematical Undergraduate Degree Course.

    • Currently undertaking a bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Mathematical Degree Course
    • Experience with mathematical optimization models, Simulation, Tableau, Knime is preferred but not essential.

    This is a Full-Time position working 39 hours per week, on-site working. The placement dates are:

    • Starting on Monday, 4th September 2023 and finishing Friday, 23rd August 2024
