    The Manufacturing Department in the Springtown facility is responsible for the manufacturing of the product, in Wafer format, to meet customer schedule. The product moves between multiple tools and processes, with a total build cycle time in excess of 6 months. The team consists of a Manufacturing Specialist (Production Operator) headcount in excess of 800, allocated to one of 4 shift teams. The department allocates personnel to run the tools, move the product, with attention to teamwork, throughput and quality of product.

    About the role you will

    • Your primary focus will be to formulate and deploy optimal solutions for improved operational efficiency within the Wafer Fab. This includes projects on increased capital utilization, improved direct labour efficiency, reduced cycle time and improved yields.
    • You will work alongside Engineers, Manufacturing Management and Subject Matter Experts within a highly complex multiple re-entrant environment to formulate and deploy optimal solutions for improved operational efficiency within the Wafer Fab.
    • You will develop and deploy innovative solutions within Manufacturing to improve factory efficiencies (including the use of queuing theory and mathematical modelling and optimization)
    • Understand factory systems and their interactions to determine strategies for optimised performance and their associated trade-offs
    • Utilize factory data systems to identify, analyse and resolve operational problems and drive sustained business improvement.
    • Use quantitative and analytic abilities to integrate and analyse information
    • You will participate in cross-functional / cross site teams and projects within Operations to identify and implement best practice and collaborate and communicate with Seagate sites in the USA and Asia

    About you

    • Demonstrate strong Communication skills with capability to interact with all levels within the organization.
    • Excellent presentation and written skills.
    • Ability to set own course in projects with little supervision and a full comprehension of the task
    • Make timely decisions with a clear business understanding.
    • Motivated and excited to be working in a highly data driven engineering environment.
    • Able to introduce own ideas, knowledge, and skills, to develop solutions to challenges.

    Your experience includes

    • Project management experience in an Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing environment.
    • Knowledge, application and demonstrated experience of Lean methodology and Six Sigma in developing solutions.

    You might also have

    • Degree in an Engineering/Science related discipline
    • Qualifications on Six Sigma / Lean methodology.
    • Project management qualification.
    • Manufacturing Engineering qualifications.
