    The role

    We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Assistant Management Accountant to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team, working closely with our Management Accountant to support the delivery of the team’s data strategy. If you’re passionate about financial analysis, reporting, and delivering insightful data to drive business decisions, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

    Please note, as part of our Seasalt Connected approach to ways of working, this role will be based flexibly across our Cornwall head office locations (minimum 40% of working week) and remotely within the UK.

    You’ll help us by

    You’ll play a key role in conducting financial analysis and creating tools to enhance business partnering capabilities, financial performance, forecasting, and financial close reporting process within the Financial Accounting team. This includes processing key accruals, prepayments, and other accounting adjustments to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the monthly results. You’ll ensure that critical controls are followed during the month-end process, while also reporting monthly primary statement results for review by the Senior Financial Accounting Manager and Director of Finance.

    You’ll produce key variance analysis (actual vs. budget) and other management information reports to support month end close and reporting, such as retail reports, creditor/stock analysis, and wage reporting. In addition, you will generate KPI information to analyse the financial result and provide commentary on key movements.

    Beyond regular reporting, you will contribute to finance change projects, ensuring these initiatives are delivered on time and meet business requirements.

    The skills you’ll be sharing with the team

    • AAT qualified or a ACCA/CIMA studier (or a desire to study)
    • Comfortable with numbers and an interest in financial insight
    • Strong financial analysis skills with experience within a finance function
    • Knowledge of planning and budgeting cycles
    • Ability to interrogate numbers in order to drive insight from data and inform business decisions
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to confidently communicate with key stakeholders across the business
    • Good system knowledge with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems
    • You do not see yourself as a ‘typical accountant’ but a sociable and diligent finance business partner
    • Willingness to learn and develop in a finance professional role
