We have an excellent opportunity for a Management Trainee – Pre-Construction (Assets & Decarbonisation) to join our Housing Partnerships team in the North-West.

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Pre-Construction – Assets & Decarbonisation and will support the effective execution of projects throughout the pre-construction phase and help to deliver our innovative retrofit consultancy service for our customers.

What you’ll do

  • Assist our customers in the development and implementation of asset management strategies through our retrofit consultancy, including feasibility modelling, cost planning and report writing
  • Develop compliant and high-quality retrofit solutions through project management of assessments, surveys and designs with our pre-construction team, including procurement, design management and planning
  • Collaborate with our customers to deliver effective projects which meet their requirements
  • Support the Retrofit and Refurbishment team as appropriate to unlock opportunities to win work
  • Engage and assist both the Bid Writing and Estimating teams to deliver high quality winning bids which secure new work for Seddon
  • Shadow and assist with the Bid Management of retrofit and refurbishment tender opportunities
  • Assist with PAS2035 compliance in respect of documentation gathering, quality assurance and database management
  • Engage with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders during the pre-construction and tendering phases
  • Collaborate with other teams within Seddon to undertake an efficient pre-construction phase e.g. legals, finance, commercial, operation

Have you got what it takes?

  • Undergraduate degree in a construction related field (e.g Sustainability, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Building Surveying etc)
  • Passion for decarbonisation and improving homes in the social housings sector
  • Excellent IT skills e.g. Microsoft Office, CoreLogic PAS Hub. Including experience with data analytics
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges
  • Effective time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative and balance priorities to achieve results
  • Clean driving licence and willingness to travel
