Sensata Technologies is a world leader and early innovator in mission-critical sensors and controls designed to make the world cleaner, safer and more efficient.
Sensata devices are in systems that protect people and the environment, so what we do matters. We take pride in knowing our technologies improve safety, efficiency and comfort for millions of people every day.
The role
The R&D engineering intern will support and partake in the development of sensing technologies through analysis and simulation of materials, components, and products. The team you will be joining is known as the Technical Services Laboratory (TSL) – an R&D and troubleshooting lab which supports requests for expert help from our global engineering and manufacturing teams.
You will become familiar with simple experimental work using equipment such as S.E.M./E.D.X., to more complex development projects, with a lot of variation and inter-departmental communication. This provides an opportunity to learn from a top technical talent and requires a proactive approach to problem solving and a willingness to develop personal knowledge and skills.

- Support component/material testing, validation & fault diagnosis for new and existing products.
- Assist the design process of products by collating critical material data.
- Utilise and develop material characterisation & analysis techniques.
- Develop, explore, and maintain advanced analysis equipment & facilities.
- Implement, maintain, and enhance processes for laboratory control, simulation, material analysis and collaboration.
- Discuss requests for technical help with engineers and communicate scientific issues to mechanical engineers.
