Within Shell’s Contracting and Procurement team, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing the essential support needed to deliver cost-effective solutions that impact our businesses positively and form long-term relationships with our partners and suppliers. This includes contractors committed to social performance and a cleaner global energy.
The Contract and Procurement team is responsible for everything Shell buys to develop and operate its assets, equating to approximately $65 billion in annual spend. It’s a thrilling environment for interns keen to test and further develop their interpersonal skills and commercial acumen.
The business
Upstream UK plays a key role as a safe, sustainable cash engine for Shell, delivering ~$1.5bln Cash Flow from Operations with a robust pipeline of planned activity to significantly increase that figure. Upstream UK provides around 10% of UK Oil and Gas Production with a recent study indicating over 28,000 FTE roles in the wider supply chain and UK economy being supported by Upstream UK activity. Upstream UK was the origin of the Fit for the Future program with Supply Chain playing a pivotal role in re-setting the Upstream UK supply chain cost-base, implementing the right contract structures to drive sustained cost, innovation and safety performance and working with the supply chain to embed innovation and technology solutions to help close our gap to potential.
