    As an enthusiastic, detail conscious Finance and Commercial Officer, you will provide Finance and Commercial Support across the Grid Technology Service organisation and related sites in the UK, supporting the GT SV Management team and wider Operational teams with Finance and Commercial reports and data to drive decision making within the business, ensuring quality of data for the business and monthly reporting, under the guidance of the Finance and Commercial Manager.

    Role would be perfect for Graduate or entry level talent and offers great development opportunity.

    Areas of responsibility

    • Financial Partner on a portfolio of projects, including preparation and supporting the Project Review process
    • Booking of projects into SAP and carrying out relevant checks
    • Invoicing in line with Project Milestone/Billing plans
    • Responsible for several cost centres, checking of actuals, carrying out review with CC owners.
    • Preparation of Monthly Management reporting and supporting the consolidated forecast process
    • Ensure guidelines are being consistently implemented (e.g. COS Accruals, Warranty, Risk Contingencies)
    • Tracking of Balance Sheet movements and communication to the business concerning NCE and debtors.
    • Preparation of Internal controls (ICFR) and supporting external audit process
    • Month end processing responsibility including journals and analysis
    • Contribute to key process improvement initiatives and suggesting new ideas
    • Creation and maintenance of process documentation for your given tasks
    • Ad-hoc reporting requirements where required.

    What you need 

    • Working towards an accounting qualification with 2 years of previous finance experience or recent Graduate in Finance/Commercial related topic
    • Entry Level and Graduates welcome to apply, CIMA or ACCA training provided
    • Strong attention to detail with high level of accuracy
    • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload and achieve objectives with minimal supervision
    • Good analytical skills with the ability to change raw data into meaningful information for reporting
    • Confidence and experience using tools like Excel
    • Knowledge of SAP desirable
    • Working independently as well as within teams is required.
    • Can-do attitude and willingness to learn
    • Travel and flexibility essential

    About the team

    Grid Technology Service carry out repairs, refurbishment and Maintenance activities across the High Voltage substation markets. We also have long term Service contracts in place for key customer assets.

    The Finance and Commercial team is there to support the operational team in delivery of their projects. You will learn not only about Finance and Commercial aspects of the business but also gain an understanding of our core portfolio and customer landscape.
