At Siemens Magnet Technology in Eynsham, Oxfordshire we specialise in the design and manufacture of superconducting magnets for MRI scanners. We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Project Change Manager to join our R&D Engineering Productivity team. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with people from different functions across the business in the UK, Germany, India and China.

    What are Change Projects?

    Predominantly, we are making design or material changes to components to reduce the cost of the product, improve a current product or because of changes in supply of existing parts. These projects could be a site level or involve working with colleagues in China, Germany, and India.

    You will be working on 4-8 projects concurrently - typical projects last circa 12 months. A change project typically follows the below project lifecycle:

    • Investigate the scope of the project and solution
    • Follow documentation and change processes
    • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders affected by change
    • Trails and verification of changes to measure results
    • Stakeholder feedback on change
    • Change sign off

    If you have a keen interest to evaluate technical ideas, create business cases, review with stakeholders across the business, manage and implement the projects using the business change process then this will be an excellent opportunity for you.

    Your responsibilities

    • As a member of the PLM R&D Department you will be responsible for managing several change projects that contribute to the team’s business objectives. As part of this role, you will have responsibilities which include:
    • Implementing projects on time
    • Robust use of the change management process whilst implementing changes
    • Commercial evaluation of business cases for change projects
    • Prioritising the most beneficial projects to implement
    • Effective use of Teamcenter/SAP to document project work and implement changes
    • Applying Lean Methodologies to your Change Projects
    • Effective design and process risk management
    • Writing the technical and process documentation for the change projects
    • Stakeholder management for your projects across all the business functions; R&D, Manufacturing, Finance, Quality, Regulatory, Customer Service, Production Planning, Materials Management, Strategic Procurement.

    Skills including those that you will need to develop in the role

    • Preferably technical degree qualified or extensive equivalent experience
    • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
    • Experience in an engineering and manufacturing environment, this could include Design Engineering, Projects, Material Engineering or similar.
    • Excellent communication skills with an ability to work effectively within a cross functional team to help solve complex problems and implement effective solutions
