The role
We have an exciting 12-month internship opportunity for a university student (undergraduate or postgraduate), or recent graduate, to work in the Operational Excellence department of our Hull Blade Factory.
Hull’s Operational Excellence department is responsible for delivering process improvement initiatives and projects, driving the site’s digital manufacturing agenda, analysing data for trends and KPIs, as well as engaging our production teams to aid in identifying and delivering cost/waste reduction initiatives. It is a department filled with experienced and engaged professionals you will work alongside to make tomorrow better than today.
Note: All shortlisted candidates must be available to attend an Assessment Centre on Tuesday 5th December 2023 (full day) at Hull University.
Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:
- A variety of continuous improvement (Lean) initiatives and projects including, root cause analysis, value stream mapping, data analysis, Kaizen events and project management
- Working with our Digitalisation and Data team to turn data into useful information and digitalised solutions to problems
- Continued analysis of processes and data on site to identify improvement opportunities
- Creation and maintenance of KPI dashboards (PowerBI, MS Excel), enabling good decision making based on data
- Exposure to project and programme management, ensuring that best practice project management principles are in place
- Supporting the department in standardisation and good document management practices
- Assisting the organisation and facilitation of meetings, workshops and events
What you need to make a difference
Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for…
- You to be working towards / recently completed a degree or equivalent in engineering / manufacturing / business
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (in particular, MS Excel)
- Individuals with a structured, logical approach to problems and solutions
