SLR have a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Mining Engineer to join our expanding and highly successful Mining Advisory team, which is part of our wider European Advisory service line.
With our move to hybrid working, combined with our collaborative‘one team’ culture, location is flexible for this role. However, you would need to be within commuting distance of one of our offices.
The role
With support and mentorship from colleagues, you will:
- Undertake mine modelling, such as helping to run mine optimisations, 3D mine design, and scheduling
- Assist with estimates of project capital and operating costs +/- basic financial modelling and analysis
- Assist senior personnel and contribute towards Mineral Reserve estimation
- Generate, review, interpret, and analyse operational mine data
- Provide input into technical reports for due diligence reviews and feasibility studies
- Assist with the preparation of proposals and contribute to business development within the company

About you
Whilst the role would suit a graduate seeking their first professional role, we would equally be happy to hear from candidates who have already gained some degree of post-graduate experience in a commercial environment, in a comparable role.
- University Degree (or equivalent) in Mine Engineering (or related subject)
- Graduate level membership of a relevant professional body (or eligible)
- Familiarity with spatial software such CAD, ArcGIS, MapInfo or QGIS, as well as mine modelling software, such as Datamine, Deswik, Surpac, Vulcan, Whittle, Minesched, Minemax would be advantageous
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to write concise reports and confidence to interact with clients
- A full driving licence valid in the UK
