We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Junior CAD Technician to assist colleagues in the delivery of a wide range of transport assessments for various clients across the UK using standard modelling packages and recognised appraisal and design techniques

    Responsibilities

    Duties will be varied but will include

    • Prepare simple highway designs, figures, and drawings to assist the transport team using AutoCAD 
    • Undertake swept path analysis. 
    • Assist senior members of the CAD team in the preparation of more complex highway designs. 
    • Undertake on site measurements and collect associated data to inform design work. 
    • General filing and drawing management. 
    • Manage work projects in line with client expectations and Vectos/SLR priorities. 
    • Attend meetings as required. 
    • Communicate with colleagues as appropriate. 
    • Maintain continuous professional development 

    Candidates should be able to demonstrate

     

    • An understanding of highway design principles is desirable but not essential, but candidates should have a willingness to learn and desire to develop a career within highways and transport 
    • Experienced AutoCAD user, and ideally either holding (or working towards on a part time basis) an HNC/HND or higher level qualification
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Any experience using Vehicle Tracking software is desirable but training will be provided
