Smiths Interconnect is a leader in technically differentiated electronic, RF and microwave products that connect, protect and control critical systems for the wireless telecommunications, aerospace, defence, space, data centre, medical, rail, test and industrial markets.

The Smiths Interconnect Graduate Engineering Programme offers successful candidates the opportunity to join a two-year rotational programme across multi-disciplined teams within the Division. The programme will allow you to develop your knowledge and technical experience as well as the soft skills you will need to succeed as a young professional. Example of placements include 2D/3D drafting and design, electrical and mechanical design engineering, radio frequency design, digital software/firmware design, technology simulation & system analysis, material development, industrial engineering, project management and business development. 

As part of the Smiths family, you will also get to know graduates from the other Smiths divisions, helping you build a global network across the organisation.

Throughout the two years, you will be supported by the business to ensure that you gain the skills you need to succeed in Smiths Interconnect and prepare you for a full-time role within our engineering organisation.

The Individual

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (have graduated within the last 2 years)
  • A minimum of 3.5 GPA or 2:2
  • You possess good problem-solving skills and are an innovative thinker
  • You enjoy areas such as new product development, prototyping, testing and design analysis
  • Committed to work in a changing environment
