    As a Built Conservation Planning Officer, you will undertake a graduate training scheme to equip you with the skills to support planning work. You will focus on the conservation of the built environment within our National Park.

    The role

    As part of this four year contract, you will undertake a Conservation of the Historic Environment Master’s degree for two years, which will involve allocated study time and time in the classroom as part of your day-to-day activities. We will also provide on-the-job training and full supervision from your line manager. We are willing to pay for the course to be undertaken at a university of your choice.

    Specifically, your role will involve assisting with planning consent for listed building and undertaking impact assessments of heritage buildings. You will also provide advice to Planning Officers and monitor and review conservation area.

    About you

    To be considered as a Built Conservation Planning Officer, you will need:

    • The ability to communicate in both Welsh and English
    • Qualifications or experience that meets university entry requirements (normally a 2:1 honours degree, although non-standard qualifications and work experience can sometimes be accepted)
    • The ability to work as part of a team
    • Well-developed communication skills (written and verbal)
    • To be proactive and self-motivated
    • To be committed and enthusiastic
    • A full, valid driving licence
