Job Overview and Responsibilities
As part of the Manufacturing Development Group, provide Process Engineering support to the Oldbury manufacturing site on Capital, HSE and Process Improvement projects.
Key Tasks
- Assist on projects requiring process engineering input (including process design, commissioning and operation of plant)
- Assist in process improvement work on operating units.
- Assist with HSE related activities (e.g. safety studies)
- Maintaining and updating process information (P&IDs, equipment data, safety data etc).
Education and Experience
Applicants must be studying a degree in Chemical Engineering with the desire to gain 12 months industrial experience at an operating company as part of their degree course.
Skills
Applicants must have good communication skills, be thorough, accurate and self-motivated. They should be comfortable working as part of a team, but also proactively work alone as required. Applicants should be proficient in the use of MS Office and/or Google Apps Suite and ideally have knowledge of Process Modelling and drawing packages e.g. AspenPlus, Visio, etc. Part of the role may involve working on production units to commission new plant and/or improve existing processes.
Applicants need to be able to follow operating instructions and working procedures.
They should carry out this work with minimum supervision and with due regard to the Health and Safety of themselves and others.
