The Role
The intern will be working with a team of industry professionals, where they will have the opportunity to learn and develop a multitude of skills. This role would suit someone who has strong administrative and numerical skills and is interested in learning more about what happens behind the scenes of a major record company. The intern role supports the wider team, gaining great insight into the intricate workings of the music industry as well as the contractual relationship between an artist and Sony Music, and how the artists ultimately get paid.
What you’ll do
- Accountability for Bottomline Royalty document scanning.
- Ensure timely archiving of royalty dept folders & contract files.
- Assist Royalty administrators with artist filing
- Review CARMA database for unsigned producer contracts to be set up.
- Run weekly accrual files.
- Take control for regular Promo orders.
- Take control for regular stationary orders.
- Take control of Royalty query log & allocate queries received to appropriate administrators.
- Process VAT invoices for payment
- Review 3rd party royalty statements input
- Assist with set up of 3rd party compilations in EROS Royalty System
- Updating missing profit centre and company codes financial information for digital sales
- Assist Royalty Management with ad hoc Royalty/Finance requirements
Who you are
- You will enjoy working with systems, data and have a keen interest in gaining an advanced knowledge in these areas
- Demonstrate a clear willingness to learn about the different roles within the royalty department
- Adopt a structured approach to projects and tasks
- Ability to prioritise and monitor workload in line with key department activities
- Ability to use own initiative and be proactive around priorities and tasks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrate good time management skills as we often work to tight deadlines

Things to note
- We do not require you to have a degree or qualification in order to apply for this internship but you do need to be over 18+.
- The start date for the programme will be in January 2022

- There will be 3 rounds of interviews to complete, the recruitment process will be a mixture of virtual and in person interviews, but this will be determined by Covid restrictions and government guidelines at the time of interview.
