    About the role

    We are excited to be reintroducing our internship program back to our London office, with placements starting in July 2023 and ending in July 2024. This 12 month program is a fantastic opportunity for anyone in the very early stages of their career to join one of the leading companies in Film and TV. Although each role is different and part of a different department, all our internships will give you an in-depth understanding of the industry and department and will play a major part in helping to carve out your future career.

    Internship and department overview

    This internship will sit with our Central Team as part of our TV Distribution & Networks division. The Central Team works at a global level in a matrix structure with other central, regional and local teams to support the following key areas:

    • Licensing Deals – we either lead or support on key global / regional / local deals across SVOD, AVOD, Pay TV
    • Transactional Digital – we oversee the international transactional digital business and all global retailer relationships
    • Business Development – we lead on developing new products and services to support future business objectives often working with our sister companies across Sony Corporation. We are also a key part of the team building out Sony Pictures owned and operated AVOD services.

    This is a very busy team that interacts with teams around the world on a regular basis to ensure we are tracking the business in a consistent way, drawing insights from deal performance or title performance and developing new products and services to drive future growth in the business.

    What you will do

    Project Management and Consumer Insights support

    • Support with project co-ordination on business development and digital growth projects
    • Communication with International teams concerning these strategic growth projects
    • Market scanning for competitor and partner activity in focus areas to give context and insight into the broader market
    • Creation and maintenance of market and performance reporting
    • Offer insight into consumption trends among younger demographics in relation to content consumption, platform usage and transactional behaviours
    • Partner closely with the research team to stay across relevant research and help to guide and prioritise future research projects
    • Management of digital growth project dedicated SharePoint site, updating with the latest relevant materials
    • Assistance with publication of quarterly digital growth project newsletter

    What you will learn

    • Insight into how a major studio drives revenue from different aspects of the business
    • Learn about big data management and how it is practically applied in a real business context
    • Presentation skills as there will be many opportunities to present to different groups across the business
    • Learn about strategic decision making and project guidance
    • Enhanced Excel (and potentially Tableau) reporting skills
    • Learn about how research is commissioned, executed and then how the results are interpreted back in the business
    • Learn how to write concise management reports
    • Understand project management
    • Opportunity to work across teams and geographies within a major studio environment

    What you need

    To be considered for this internship you will need to be;

    • Numerate – good knowledge of excel, statistics/business background an advantage
    • Articulate – comfortable and willing to present work in an open forum to various teams around the business
    • Organised – able to manage multiple projects at the same time
    • Inquisitive – we want someone who is naturally inquisitive and keen to learn and really keen to be part of our team
