    Throughout this 13-month paid placement, you will be given the opportunity to not only expand your knowledge but also immerse yourself in what it means to be a professional in a multinational organisation and to understand where your career could take you. Working within established teams, you will be offered expert mentorship alongside multiple development opportunities.

    The Roles

    Business Planning and Control Intern CPCE Basingstoke

    In this role, you will be supporting the reporting & controlling team with the following activities:

    • Daily maintenance, control & reporting of sales for all Business Units
    • Management of Sales & General Administration for the following business groups Operations, Management, Healthcare, Sony Biotechnology Europe, Image Sensing Solutions etc.
    • Headcount management
    • Forecasting, reporting, analysis and month-end

    Finance Analyst Intern CPCE Weybridge

    Becoming a Finance Analyst Intern in the Planning & Control Department, you support a team of controllers looking after the fixed costs of Sony Europe with the following activities:

    • Monthly end close process, forecasting, reporting, cost allocation process and financial analysis
    • Business partnering to the senior management of allocated business units
    • Annual budgeting process
    • Ad-hoc projects to increase operational efficiencies and drive cost reduction

    Logistics Analyst Intern CPCE Weybridge

    As a Logistics Analyst intern, you will be analysing and reporting on the KPIs of the logistics team to drive continuous improvement activities (Kaizen). You will support our logistics platform in the continuous transformation on the way to one aligned operation working in the same way and with the same targets. Within this role, you will embrace yourself in various activities, including:

    • Preparation, verification and compilation of reports, accruals, forecasts and budgets to analyse the performance, sales and inventory
    • Analysing trends and patterns to support opportunities for costs saving initiatives, sales & operational planning
    • Support our continuous improvement activities with the development of our operational shipment volume forecasting tool
    • Verifying the accuracy of invoices received from logistics partners

    Strategic Planning Intern CPCE Weybridge

    In this role, you will be supporting the strategic planning team with the following activities:

    • Consolidated financial reporting at Sony Europe corporate level
    • Providing insight from analysis of financial KPI of Sony Europe to drive corporate level initiatives
    • Preparing presentations and presenting the insights to the management team
    • Supporting project management of various corporate initiatives, involving high senior management exposure

    Trainee Controller CPCE Weybridge

    As a Trainee Controller, you will be playing a key role in enhancing the controlling process and supporting the business planning and controlling team during the budget process. Within this role, you will support the team with the following activities:

    • Daily reporting on KPIs (Net Sales, Marginal Profit and Gross Profit)
    • Analysing Profit & Loss accounts, reporting and forecasting to European and Japanese management
    • Collaborating with the application team to support automation of reporting
    • Improving the forecast process (e.g., pricing and cost maintenance process)

    Accounting Analyst Intern SGFA Weybridge

    Becoming an Accounting Analyst Intern means becoming a Business Partner whose role is to ensure complete and accurate Profit and Loss statements and Balance Sheet reporting with maximized efficiencies while focusing on maintaining and strengthening Business Partnering, driving continuous improvement and building a strong governance structure with clearly defined accountability.

    Within this role, you will support the team with the following activities:

    • Supporting in standardising processes and procedures, across countries and business groups, to deliver efficiency and effectiveness
    • Preparing monthly closing cycle, journal posting (accruals & provisions etc.), BS reconciliations, financial statements etc. and ensuring their integrity
    • Liaising with the Statutory and Compliance team to ensure all finance and commercial activities comply with the applicable Group and European policies
    • Becoming an approachable ambassador to all stakeholders and supporting the team in establishing and reinforcing effectual and efficient business partnering to assist in the achievement of key responsibilities

    Assistant Accountant Intern SGFA Basingstoke

    As our Assistant Accountant, you will become a true business partner supporting better access to information, reporting, standardisation and improvement of our processes. You will be working with various departments and supporting the senior financial account with the following activities:

    • Supporting the day-to-day accounting processes to help meet financial reporting targets
    • Ensuring balance sheet integrity
    • Maintaining up-to-date and accurate reconciliations.
    • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives

    Finance Project and Communication Intern SGFA Weybridge

    Becoming our Finance Project and Communication Intern means, becoming a member of two important teams within SGFA – the Finance Project Support & Planning team and the SGFA Internal Communications team.

    You will be reviewing the project objectives and deliverables against the KPIs and also supporting communications strategies to engage, inspire, and connect employees with SGFA's purpose and values as well as the department’s key initiatives and projects. Within this role, you will embrace yourself in various activities, including:

    • Monthly reporting and analysis of performance, costs, headcount, service level agreements and project progress to identify key areas of concern and/or gaps
    • Supporting strategic, commercial, and accounting projects including business case preparation and financial models for strategic projects
    • Contributing to the SGFA news agenda by coordinating or drafting articles related to e.g., key projects, personnel announcements, employee stories and administration of new posts
    • Supporting internal event management (e.g., SGFA townhall meeting, SGFA Conference, SGFA All hands), employee award cycle and keeping our SGFA homepage up to date

    Your Profile

    • Studying for an undergraduate degree which makes you eligible for a 13-month placement starting summer 2023. Preferred degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or similar
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to deal with large sets of data
    • Excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills
    • Ability to quickly learn and use new IT applications
    • Self-motivated, organised and inquisitive team player who is not afraid to challenge and be challenged
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
    • English language (written and spoken)

    The job posting will be open until 6th of November 2022. Afterwards, the selected candidates will be invited to perform a recorded video interview.

    In December, the best-performing candidates will be invited to an assessment centre.
