The Role: Index Management Summer Internship, ESG Indices
The Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands
The Team: The summer internship will support the EMEA ESG Index Management Teams within the Global Index Management & Production Group responsible for the calculation and maintenance of S&P Dow Jones ESG-themed Indices.
The Impact: We are looking for a summer intern to join the ESG Index Management team. This internship opportunity will give you the chance to see, learn, assist and participate in research activities supporting the maintenance and rebalance of high-profile ESG themed indices. You will be supervised by a mentor who will support your learning throughout the duration of the internship. This role will also offer the opportunity for you to connect with stakeholders from all aspects of SPDJI’s business and the experience to deep dive into a wide variety of new indices and product types.
What's in it for you:
- Develop reporting tools to understand the ESG characteristics of our indices.
- Develop Quality Assurance processes around data usage in S&P Dow Jones ESG Indices
- Setup automation around rebalances using existing tools
- Conduct careful analysis on large datasets and be able to extract important conclusions/recommendations and explain those to various stakeholders.
- You will have the opportunity to work independently and with other team members to help meet tight deadlines.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks
In addition to this insight that you will gain into how our Dow Jones Indices Index Management team services their clients and you will also be furnished with regular feedback throughout the 10 weeks.
What we’re looking for:
- Understanding of global financial markets and company fundamentals
- Skilled in Python programming language.
- Ability to apply quantitative methods;
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in field with significant quantitative exposure (e.g. mathematics, computer science, finance or economics);
- Strong Excel skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to work as part of a team.
Duration: The successful candidate must be available from 17-Jun to 23-Aug 2024
