Here at Specsavers, we’re not only keen to find new talent – we want to nurture it. Providing those in the early stages of their career with the skills they need to succeed and supporting them to see what’s possible. Our New Talent Programme enables you to do just that, providing you with a wide range of opportunities and the support you need to develop and fast-track your career.
What you’ll get
As part of the New Talent Programme, you’ll complete six-month placements in two business areas (opportunities including our social media, technology, and project management teams, to name a few), enabling you to gain a detailed insight into everything we do here at Specsavers. This will set you up for future success by giving you a broad understanding that will open up opportunities across the business for you to grow your career.
We’re committed to investing in your learning and development. You will receive 12 months of carefully structured development, with one a day a week for the first six months dedicated to focusing solely on your progression, followed by three residential experiences to support you through your final six months of the programme.
What you’ll bring
- The passion and potential to drive your own career development
- A high level of energy and motivation to contribute to the team and get things done at pace
- A confident communicator, including great listening skills and an ability to ask good questions
- Willingness to challenge constructively, and to be challenged, to improve outcomes
- A commitment to constant learning and self-improvement
- Readiness to take risks, embrace a challenge and learn from mistakes along the way
- A curious and inquisitive approach with the flexibility to adapt to change
So that you can get the most out of being part of our New Talent group, and we can support you in getting as much support settling in as you need, you'll need to be able to easily get to one of our offices or be willing to relocate so that you can. We know changing location can come with additional costs, so if you're not currently on good transport links or within a commutable drive talk to us about how we can support you with the move.
Our people ambition is to be the place we are all proud to belong. We want all our colleagues to feel listened to, included, valued, and motivated. To help start us on this journey networks and communities are being established by our colleagues across Specsavers so far, we have PRISM which represents our LBGTQ+ community, MenoTalk to help support and drive our menopause in the workplace agenda and Empowered Together, our women's network that is in place to rally for women's equality in and out of work and help instil confidence in women and we have more colleague networks in the early stages of being set up and ready to launch in the coming months.
Happy to talk flexible working.
