The distributed energy market is working to change the way we generate, supply and use energy, whilst also decarbonising and leading the way to zero-emission energy.  It will drive localised and clean whole systems solutions which provide more flexible and affordable energy.

SSE Distributed Energy finance, own, operate and maintain energy infrastructure for commercial, industrial and residential customers - providing them with a market-leading project development service and certainty of operational performance and asset management

SSE Distributed Energy - Major Projects task is to diligently and professionally manage and deliver identified Major Projects, these generally being of high value or strategic importance.  This involves working with multiple internal and external teams and developing projects from concept through to infrastructure build.

What will I do on the programme?

You could be involved in a broad range of exciting projects across the UK and/or Ireland. All roles are likely to involve some travel to other sites to gain practical exposure to a wide range of business areas, therefore a full UK driving licence would be an advantage but is not essential.

Joining as a graduate you will be involved in a full range of Major Project activity from the programme management office, to project conception & business case through to final delivery, including wider business exposure and interaction with SSE Distributed Energy business teams such as commercial, engineering design, energy sector experts, business development and bid management.

What do I need to join?

For this programme, you'll ideally have a minimum of a 2:2 degree from a range of degree disciplines.  This may include but is not limited to finance, accountancy, business, Civil Engineering, Surveying & Planning.

We'd love you to have practical work or project experience that reflects your passion for business, as well as demonstrable experience of working in a team. You'll also be comfortable working to and setting stretching individual targets and using your own initiative to overcome challenges.

You should have an interest in the energy sector, and show alignment with SSE's core values. We also ask that you have a flexible approach to work locations and be genuinely committed to developing a career with us – as we are with you.
