The role
An excellent opportunity for a Paralegal has arisen within our Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury team in Hull. Our team focus on complex, high value serious injury and medical negligence claims together with providing help and support to individuals suffering life-changing injuries.
You will work closely with experienced lawyers and receive valuable training to develop your knowledge and skills on a broad range of clinical negligence and personal injury files. Over time, you will be responsible for some of your own cases, with supervision and support.
This role would suit a law graduate with a keen interest in developing a career in life-changing injuries or an experienced personal injury / clinical negligence paralegal looking for a new challenge.
Duties will be varied but may include
- Supporting fee earners on complex, challenging and high value cases
- Drafting documents and correspondence, including witness statements
- Preparing and updating case files
- Sorting medical records and preparing court bundles
- Liaising with clients and third parties both face to face and on the telephone
- Using our bespoke IT systems to deal with client matters and to record your activities
The successful candidate
- Experience in clinical negligence or personal injury is an advantage, but not essential
- Must have an LLB or equivalent degree.
- IT competent
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Self-motivated with a professional approach to work
- Empathetic approach and strives for excellence in client care
- Flexible ‘can do’ attitude
