    The role

    Our Digital Services team are seeking a graduate to join them in applying the power of data and analytics to help clients achieve better outcomes. We have a well-established team of 25 digital services experts across UK & Ireland, involved in GIS, data analytics, machine learning and statistics and we are continuously growing. For this role, you could be based in one of our offices in Warrington, Leeds, Bristol, Cardiff, Redditch or High Wycombe.

    Our data scientists and analysts thrive upon advising our clients across the Water Sector and help them gain insights from data and real value from the adoption of technology.

    As a Digital Graduate (Data Analyst), you could be working with Stantec developed tools such as Surface Water Assessor to show potential opportunities for surface water management and sustainable drainage, or Flood Prediction Tools to prevent or react more quickly to internal flooding in water networks.

    You could also be involved with

    • Data Management, Processing & Translation – Database design and management, FME, GIS
    • Data Analysis – GIS, Tableau, Python, R, Machine Learning
    • Data Visualisation – GIS, PowerBI, web tools

    About you

    The successful candidate will have achieved or be on target to achieve an Honours Degree in subjects related to technology or the environment including data/computer science, engineering, mathematics, or sciences.

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate an innovative and inquisitive nature, and will ideally have some knowledge of and a keen willingness to learn skills in:

    • Programming (e.g., Python, Ruby, C#, SQL…)
    • Web development (JavaScript, CSS, HTML, PHP)
    • Business intelligence (Microsoft Power BI or equivalent) and GIS (ArcGIS)
    • Data Mining/ Manipulation (FME)
    • How to communicate to technical and non-technical stakeholders and appreciate different perspectives.

    Experience of engineering or environmental data science related analytics would be an advantage.

    Any evidence of the skills listed above (including examples from non-work activities or academic projects) would strengthen a candidate’s application.

    Finally, you must be eligible to live and work in the UK at the time you start employment.
