Supporting Studio Voltaire's Curator (Participation) you will help to deliver a range of programmes working with artists, schools, colleges and universities, as well as local groups and community organisations to develop a lively year-round programme of artist-led workshops, events and tours.
This role is supported by Lambeth's Elevate programme for people aged 18-30 and based in Lambeth.
Studio Voltaire’s Participation Programmes aim to redefine the role of arts and culture to build stronger communities, often responding to key social and political issues that we might experience while questioning established norms, histories, ways of thinking and living.
The role
This placement is an excellent opportunity for someone starting out in the arts, gaining essential experience in research, arts administration, budgeting, and calendar management, and assisting the team and leading on the facilitation of workshops, displays and events with artists, participants and community partners.
The Programme Assistant (Participation) will support day-to-day administration, working closely on a new programme supporting an Artist’s residency with year six students in a nearby school and a programme of teacher training activity, as well as participating in a wider programme of events and workshops. You will also be able to contribute ideas for the programme, lead the delivery of events, and receive mentoring from the wider team as per your area of interest, which will be established during regular 1:1 sessions with your line manager.
