Digitalisation Internship Sutton 2023

If the answer is yes then Subsea7 have exciting opportunities for paid interns to join our Digitalisation team based in our Sutton, London office on a 6-month contract basis. The Digitalisation programme has been setup to transform Subsea7 into a data driven organisation to help deliver projects to our clients more effectively and efficiently.

As a Digitalisation Intern you will work closely with our IT partners and suppliers. This is not a role for developers but for those who want to gain some Subsea7 process knowledge and project management skills. Subsea7 is developing several engineering digitalisation initiatives that will bring significant long-term value and benefits to the company. These improvements will be realised through changing and optimising the technical delivery of our Projects with the application of new systems and tools. Some of these key initiatives are the development of a Common Work Breakdown Structure (CWBS), and various tools to support the technical delivery of our projects with CWBS.

What will your responsibilities involve?

• Work as part of an Agile solution delivery team, reviewing business requirements and existing internal processes.
• Work alongside our internal digitalisation teams and collaborate with leadership, engineers, IT, and data scientists to understand and develop data integration processes.
• Support digitalisation system testing and user acceptance testing to ensure the newly developed functionality meets the business requirements.
• Work in Azure DevOps to create test scripts, capture any system related bugs, technical questions, or enhancement requests.
• Support the development and delivery of training material to project teams, translating technical solutions into understandable formats for all levels of technical competencies.
• Application deployment support including user guides, how-to materials, and direct end user support.
• Help with analysis of Subsea7’s existing data sources and data collection processes.
• Develop and deploy code based automated data pipelines to extract data into a cloud-based data platform.
• Design and build of insightful visualisations and quality assessments on top of extracted datasets.
• Assist with the implementation of a data governance framework around extracted datasets.
• Assist with troubleshooting and route cause problem analysis of coding defects

What are we looking for?

• You should be degree qualifies in an Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related subject
• You will have a proven interest in software, computer science, programming, digitalisation, automation, and information management.
• You should have previous programming experience with a modern language; MS Visual Basic for Application (VBA), Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, Scala.
• Experience with data mining and data transformation via automated data pipelines.
• Experience with SQL queries and relational database technologies.
• Strong communication / collaboration skills.
