    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Survey Technician (Mechanical) to join our Great Yarmouth base, working with our Mechanical Team within our EMEA operations team.

    The successful candidate will report to the Regional Technical & Operations Manager - EMEA and be responsible for learning how to maintain our rental equipment to ensure its ready for deployment. Primarily this will be a base (onshore) role but there may be ad-hoc requirements to support our clients with offshore operations.

    The candidate will hold A-Levels (or equivalent) in Maths, Science and Technology and have an ambition to learn and develop in a trainee role. The candidate will have an interest in electro mechanics and prior experience or qualifications in this discipline will be an advantage.

    The applicant will need to demonstrate a confident “can do” attitude in a fast-paced environment and must be a team player. The applicant will need to be an excellent communicator and offer exceptional attention to detail.

    Main responsibilities

    Rental (onshore)

    • Preparing and testing of equipment prior to rental and post hire.
    • Function testing, software / firmware updates, cable integrity.
    • Ensuring completeness of equipment against packing lists.
    • Checking, inspecting and documenting equipment returned from hire.
    • Visual inspection, function testing and writing technical reports.
    • Identification of in-house or external repair tasks.
    • Preparing all assets to ensure they are ready for delivery to clients at short notice.
    • General warehouse and delivery duties.
    • This role may require ad-hoc trips to client sites and vessels, therefore the candidate will be asked to attend offshore training and undergo an offshore medical

    Requirements of role

    • Qualified to AL-Level/Higher Level in maths, science and technology, ideally Electromechanical engineering
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to follow procedures and processes correctly
    • High standard of QHSE in the workplace
    • Ability to work as a team taking directions
    • Ability to work independently and confidently when representing the company at client premises
    • Have a flexible and pro-active approach to working and learning
