Your new role

Are you a product or industrial design undergraduate eager to gain hands-on experience with a team of marine survival equipment experts? Are you passionate about the creative world of design and manufacturing, and keen to learn from the best in the industry? We're looking for enthusiastic students with a can-do attitude to join our team in Gosport on a fixed-term basis!

In this role, you'll apply your academic knowledge and skills to real-world challenges. From day one, you'll take on significant responsibilities, allowing you to contribute meaningfully to our company. This placement is a mutual commitment to your professional development and future career. You'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the creation of survival equipment, such as life jackets, and work on exciting projects!

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

  •  Review and transfer documentation to support the product relocation process, ensuring compliance with all necessary standards and timely completion.
  •  Generate detailed and precise illustrations to enhance documentation and engineering specifications, utilizing industry-standard illustration tools to produce top-quality visual assets.
  •  Collaborate with senior colleagues to analyse data, specify methods, and enhance manufacturing or materials processes
  •  Participate in design endeavours and generate specification drawings using industry-specific systems and tools.
  •  Provide support in delivering engineering solutions and contribute to project endeavours while adhering to defined timeframes and quality benchmarks.
  •  Participate in formal and informal training sessions, coaching sessions, and development planning activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  •  Foster collaborative relationships with team members and other departments to achieve organizational objectives.

About you

Essential criteria

  •  Candidates must be pursuing a relevant degree, such as Product Design or a related field.
  •  Demonstrate effective organizational and time management abilities.
  •  Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  •  An interest in marine activities or sailing would facilitate a better understanding of our product portfolio.
