    Our Jealotts Hill R&D site hosts a vibrant multi-disciplinary scientific community of around 800 people.  Located between Maidenhead and Bracknell it offers a spacious and green campus environment with comprehensive sports facilities, catering facilities & social clubs.     About the role

    We are looking for a Graduate Formulation Chemist to join our Formulation Technology Group. This position would be suitable for new graduates.

    Your role will include researching novel formulation technologies and developing new biological and chemical crop protection products, using automation where appropriate.  In more detail, this will include applying fundamental understanding of chemistry and a scientific approach to design, prepare and characterize novel formulations in the lab and also at larger scales when needed. You’ll be planning and conducting experimental work programmes so a love of practical work, good organisation skills, scientific curiosity and an ability to solve technical problems are all critical for the role.

    As Syngenta is a global company, you will work within multidisciplinary project teams, so high attention to detail and great communication skills will also be key to your success as you work with scientists from other functions to record, report, present and discuss your data. We are committed to your development and growth, so we are looking for scientists with a passion to learn and keep up to date with technological advancements

    About you

    • Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or similar related scientific subject
    • We would also consider applications from candidates with equivalent work experience
    • Experience of working independently and safely in a chemical lab environment
    • Scientific curiosity and a passion to keep learning
    • Good organisational and project management skills
    • A dynamic and enthusiastic attitude to problem solving
    • Great communication, teamworking and networking skills
