    About The Role

    We are now recruiting a Graduate Process Engineer to work in our Process Studies Group in Jealott’s Hill. You will be part of a diverse, global department performing cross-disciplinary research and development to meet business targets and long-term strategic goals

    The role provides scientific chemical and process engineering input and data to technical studies in the support of agrochemical production sites globally.

    You will be involved in the improvement and development of manufacturing processes for new and existing agrochemical products via fundamental technical understanding in support of our manufacturing plants and projects in meeting business targets.

    As a member of the team you will contribute to the technical development of the engineering group and the wider department through capability improvement initiatives.

    You Will Make A Difference By

    • Providing practical, sustainable, safe and commercially viable solutions for problems and issues in complex chemical processes. You will use chemical engineering principles to perform studies (eg calculations, assessments, modelling exercises and reviews)
    • Preparing detailed experimental plans for laboratory and bench scale programmes, constructing and commissioning lab scale equipment and carrying out experimental work to generate reliable data.
    • Analysing and assessing data, generated both in our labs and from pilot and manufacturing plants, generating technical reports, summaries and presentations to communicate project progress and results within the engineering team, the department and to other partners
    • Identifying capability improvement opportunities and devising and implementing plans and means to realise them, including innovative technical know-how, software and digital solutions, and other ways of working
    • Continuing to learn and develop through training, keeping up to date with technical literature, site visits, attendance at seminars and applying learning to projects.
    • You will be expected to be confident to work and interact with internal partners on our manufacturing and development sites as well as to engage with external academic and industrial institutions.

    What Are We Looking For

    • A graduate with a degree in chemical or process engineering
    • Sound theoretical knowledge of unit operations of chemical engineering and the theory behind them
    • Aptitude and interest in working practically in a chemical development laboratory
    • Ability to identify and analyse problems using relevant scientific theory and appropriate data analysis and interpretation
    • Organisational skills with ability to plan, adapt to changing situations and maintain focus on activities over extended timescales
    • Experience of process simulation and modelling tools such as AspenPlus and/or computational fluid dynamics is an advantage
    • A strong awareness and understanding of HSE requirements, process safety and health issues
