    About the role

    If you want an opportunity to test your academic knowledge and training in a practical, professional setting, Tata Steel can offer a fantastic learning experience. We are also open to applications from students who have recently graduated and are looking to expand their knowledge and experience in this field.

    The Communication team is responsible for Internal Communications, Public Relations and Community Relations for the whole of the UK and some sites in Europe. The student will support internal and external communication activity such as community events and internal achievements, helping to publicise these through print, online, broadcast and social media. You will work with various community partners across the UK to maximise benefits for Tata Steel, its employees and community stakeholders. For these activities, the student will also be responsible for procurement and use of branded merchandise.

    To be eligible for a placement you should be on track to achieve a 2:1 degree in in any business-related discipline or in Journalism, Communication, Media Relations and show an interest in Marketing with strong communication, problem-solving and team skills which are all important. Knowledge of online and social media would be an advantage along with an understanding of shooting and editing video content.
