Our Product Sustainability team is recognised as global sector leaders in Life Cycle Assessment and Sustainability and has recently been awarded a “Steelie”. The team has a major part to play in reducing and communicating Tata Steel’s product environmental impact and delivering customer-driven requirements relating to sustainability.
The placement programme will support you along the way. We want you to understand how Group Environment fits into and benefits our broader business, so you’ll also complete placements beyond the Group Environment function. This could be on any one of a multitude of key stakeholder sites, businesses or projects, such as in a manufacturing unit, Technical department, or Business Improvement team. In an organisation of our size, the possibilities are considerable.
As a placement member of the Product Sustainability team, you will contribute to demonstrating and communicating the environmental credentials of steel by assessing Tata Steel’s operations and products in the context of sustainable development, through life cycle thinking and Life Cycle Assessment in particular, providing technical knowledge and skills in support of Tata Steel business units and Corporate functions.
Data collection, analysis and reporting are key aspects of the job, which will involve liaison with customers (internal and external) and other external organisations.
Requirements
You must been on track to achieving at least a 2:1 Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Engineering/Science, Geology, Biology.
Driven, passionate and tenacious, your strong sense of personal accountability is bolstered by your eye for the bigger picture. Outstanding problem-solving skills and the ability to inspire trust and build engagement are also essential.
