The Role

The position is within the Environmental Process Optimisation team, which provides advice and technical support to Tata Steel businesses and external parties in the field of environmental & energy engineering. The successful candidate will work in a diverse team on a wide range of improvement projects and activities across Tata Steel Europe operations (mainly UK),
Work carried out will involve supporting and contributing to the successful delivery of a range of projects focussed on improving the environmental and energy performance of key equipment and processes at our manufacturing sites.
This will include the use of on-site measurement, complex data analysis and application of engineering theory to solve process issues in our manufacturing areas. Projects will require close collaboration with personnel on operational sites which are in some cases high hazard facilities and require work within challenging environments.
Requirements
To be eligible for this placement you should be on track to achieve a 2:1 degree in an Engineering or Science related subject, be interested in environmental, energy or process engineering and have a desire to learn from a team of experienced engineers.

This includes 35 days’ holidays (including bank holidays) which will be pro-rated for the duration of your placement. In addition to a competitive salary, you’re eligible to apply for sponsorship from Tata Steel. This is a cash reward for performing to a high level during your placement and returning to the company in a graduate role.
