    We are looking for a Technical Services Specialist Graduate for our UK Dairy category.

    As a Graduate with a Food Science related degree, we will provide you with training with our internal specialist so you will be well equiped to develop and drive your career with us at Tate & Lyle food solutions.

    This is a hands-on role, responsible for carrying out dairy product development concepts and trials in labs, pilot plants, and customer production lines.  The primary focus is serving the UK regional market, but as a member of our global Application and Technical Service network, you’ll get to connect with and learn from international colleagues across other T&L regions. You will utilise the very best of our ingredients and food solutions to develop on-trend prototypes to meet our customer needs.

    What you’ll be doing

    As the UK Dairy Technical Services (TS) Manager you will be hands on for the full product development lifecycle – from understanding the clients’ needs, developing formulations using innovative ingredients and food solutions, carrying out trials, presenting findings, moving from pilot plant production environments through to launch.

    You will get to show your technical knowledge and expertise across a broad range of Dairy and Baby Food Ingredients.

    Managing a portfolio of projects, you will be responsible for prioritisation of activities in order to deliver the desired outcomes on time, maximizing the commercial opportunities for our Ingredients and Food Solutions business.

    Working in a growth market, we need to be agile and work at speed, never compromising quality of work, and adapting to diverse customer needs, ways of working and within the varied regulatory constraints of each country we support.

    You’ll be working independently, but also collaborating with your commercial and scientific colleagues but always closely connected with the clients you support – occasionally embedded in their own teams and/or locations as the project need requires.

    Gather information regarding workshops, seminars, exhibitions of interest for the technical departments to be always up to date on the latest researches, technologies, and market trends.

    Provide information regarding the most up to date technologies to be implemented in the pilot plant, and ensure they are in line with the most strategic customers for the Company. 
    Hold the technical trainings (mainly for Sales, TS and Customers), as per company training programs, and provide ideas for a continuous improvement of the trainings themselves

    What you’ll have

    • Experience in food products development or applications, dairy and or ingredients.
    • Working within an international environment as well as in a matrix organization.
    • Awareness of food legislation 
    • Excellent knowledge of food technology, food processing and food development 
    • Good IS/IT systems knowledge 
    • Proficient in English knowledge, any farther language is a plus 
    • Continuous improvement commitment 
    • Good computer literacy (included Microsoft, Internet, ERP and PLM systems) 
    • Good organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills 
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a multinational environment  
    • Willingness to travel 

    Location

    This role is based at our Mold site, North Wales however we offer flexible home working opportunities with occasional travel depending on business requirements.
