Background

Genesis is looking for a Graduate Flow Assurance Engineer seeking to start an exciting and rewarding career in the energy industry at our offices in London or Aberdeen.

We welcome applications from graduates in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering who are self-motivated, inquisitive, adaptable and are keen to work in a collaborative, multidiscipline environment. In return Genesis offer an excellent graduate programme that will further develop your engineering fundamentals, allow you to gain exposure to different specialisms through multidiscipline projects and gain the opportunity to become a Chartered Engineer with our support.

Our Specialist Technical Services team is made up of a number disciplines that compliment our wider business. A key area of activity within this team is within Flow Assurance who carry out studies from pre-feasibility to detailed design and operational support. Services provided by this team include:

  • Flow Assurance studies for oil and gas and energy transition projects;
    • Multiphase modelling of flows in pipelines, vessels and networks;
    • Dynamic Modelling of Integrated Facilities – subsea / topsides;
    • Production chemistry and chemical requirement analysis;
      • Hydrate management (prediction, inhibition and remediation)
      • Wax management (wax chemistry and deposition)
    • Corrosion and erosion analysis;
    • Pressure surge analysis for single phase fluids (water, oil, chemicals, etc);
    • CO2 transportation, injection and storage;
    • Hydrogen and Ammonia pipeline studies;
    • Facility capacity rating, debottlenecking and bench-marking;
    • Client team support;
    • Production optimisation and OPEX minimisation.

In addition to the above there is the opportunity to become involved in studies within the wider Specialist Technical Services team, which include:

  • Computational Fluid Mechanics
  • Dynamic Simulation
  • Reliability, Availability and Maintenance and
  • Process Safety

As Flow Assurance Engineer you will be responsible for

  • Preparation of engineering deliverables under supervision
  • Running specialist process engineering software
  • Preparing reports and supporting client presentations
  • Participating in project workshops

We’d love to hear from you if you can demonstrate

  • A degree in a Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, ideally with further specialist studies at MSc or similar level
  • Enjoy a mixture of tightly woven teams and working with relative independence.
  • Be well-motivated and able to work to deadlines.
  • Have a desire to develop new skills and experience.

It would be beneficial if you also had

  • Digital experience and programming
  • Relevant university placement industry experience
