    The trainee will work within our animation team over the next 3 years *(subject to experience) and will be trained to perform the activities assigned to 3d Technical CAD Animators. We are looking for those with an eye for technical detail and creative talent with a keen interest in 3d animation, graphics and digital media within the oil and gas energy sector.

    Key activities 

    • Produce highly accurate technical 3d animations of various offshore engineering activities
    • Produce high quality 3d renders, 3d storyboards and 2d infographic visuals
    • Produce high quality 3d models of engineering/offshore equipment and company assets from a variety of source information - Autocad drawings, laser scan data, sketches, photos
    • Compile technically accurate 3ds Max scenes and carry out 3d interface and clash checking studies.
    • Perform other related duties and assignments as directed by the Lead Technical Animator/Drawing office manager.

    Typical background and experience

    Must have: Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications (professional, technical, academic)

    • A degree or college qualification in animation/digital media or similar related subject – OR equivalent related industry experience in design, engineering or computer games industry would be suitable for this role.
    • Practical knowledge and experience of animation and rendering using 3ds Max and the Adobe Creative Suite.
    • An enthusiastic individual that can work alone or collaboratively, often with multiple tasks under deadline pressure. Ideally suited to someone confident in working on their own projects from concept meeting through to project completion as well as within a team.
    • A small portfolio or demo reel that displays the ability to animate, 3d model and render.

    Nice to have: Experience / Skills / Knowledge / General Competencies

    • 3ds Max, Vray
    • Adobe Creative Suite - After Effects, Premier Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator
    • Experience within Autocad and Inventor would be advantageous although not essential.
    • Basic knowledge of the Engineering Industry :- specifically Subsea Installations - Field layouts - Vessels
