    About Teneo Financial Advisory

    Teneo’s global Financial Advisory business advises corporates, creditors and other financial stakeholders in situations of financial stress and distress. No two situations are the same. Our advice and approach is tailored to each situation and each client. At Teneo, we believe such occurrences present new opportunities for our clients. Opportunities to restore value, raise new capital, pivot in a new direction and ultimately, identify certainty amidst chaos.

    Teneo partners with clients to find viable opportunities that will protect and enhance value and help them to build strategies that will most benefit their business and/or investment goals. We help address the challenges a business faces, whether that is targeted performance improvement to financial performance, or delivering a route to recover value, our focus is delivering certainty from uncertainty.

    The Financial Advisory Restructuring Tax team primarily specialises in providing tax advice on the restructuring of stressed and distressed businesses.  However, there are also increasing opportunities to be involved in tax advice in relation to transaction for healthy companies.  They have built a fantastic track record in recent years and are recognised as leaders in this field, advising on some of Europe’s largest and most complex restructuring processes. These include debt restructuring transactions, refinancings, debt-for-equity swaps, business reconstructions via Restructuring Plans, Schemes of Arrangement and CVAs, and insolvency appointments.

    The Programme

    The programme is over a 3 years period, where, in addition to studying under the joint programme to simultaneously obtain a chartered accountancy and the chartered institute of taxation qualifications (joint ACA/CTA), we will provide an opportunity to gain fantastic experience across a breadth of tax issues.  Our work primarily focuses on debt restructuring projects and insolvency appointments, however that ensures that you will get valuable experience of both advisory and compliance aspects of our role across most industries and with both domestic and international angles.

    After a Teneo induction, you’ll get straight to work building tax technical expertise and broader tax advisory skills, including:

    • Building tax technical knowledge, in particular, supporting senior colleagues with advising clients on restructuring tax issues on a number of high-profile projects;
    • Supporting the insolvency practitioners from a tax perspective on a range of appointments including the preparation of the tax returns;
    • Producing high quality deliverables within planned timescales;
    • Supporting senior team members during client meetings and presentations;
    • Contributing to tax technical research to be delivered to the wider team; and
    • Maintaining relevant qualifications and committing to further learning via attainment of professional qualifications.
