We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate EIA Consultant to join us in delivering a diverse range of projects within the business. Working across all project phases, including screening, scoping, impact assessment, mitigation design, reporting and monitoring, and as co-ordinator for multiple specialist topics (such as air quality, ecology, transport and heritage) you’ll develop a wide range of valuable skills and experience in providing assessments and consultancy advice.
Projects will vary from small developments to major infrastructure schemes in the defence, commercial, residential, transport, energy and urban regeneration sectors. This permanent position offers great opportunities to grow and develop your career with a supported programme of development, and with access to some of the technical leaders in the industry.
Reporting to senior colleagues, you will be responsible for assisting with a range of projects at different phases, including desk-based research, proposal writing and producing initial assessments/reports. You will also assist other environmental teams on site based surveys, to get a breadth of experience. We will support you to obtain professional membership of the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Management.
We are also particularly looking for candidates that have an interest in social sustainability, such as human health, socio-economics assessment and social value. This role will provide you with opportunities to develop and build relationships with colleagues and clients alike through collaborative working and strong communication skills.
Key responsibilities
Report writing ad reviewing, project co-ordination, development of technical skills.
Qualifications and skills
- Minimum 2:2 Degree (or equivalent) in environmental assessment and management, or related topic
- Excellent written communication and an eye for detail
- Understanding of the EIA and planning/consenting process
- Understanding of a range of environmental and sustainability aspects
