    We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant to join our rapidly growing security engineering team which operates from our UK wide offices. Roles are available at various grades to suit level of relevant experience.

    The Tetra Tech security team includes chartered engineers and professionally registered security professionals with a breadth of experience across many industry sectors. We work on prestigious built environment projects, focused on delivering security strategies and technical designs aligned to the RIBA plan of works to support the aspirations of our clients.

The team is currently based in our Bristol and London offices, though we have active projects across the UK supported by our offices, and location is flexible.

    The Role

    As a security consultant for Tetra Tech, you could be responsible for advising clients about their physical and operational security systems. The estates can vary from a single building with a heritage structure to sprawling multi-site estates with large distances between them. They can include military, nuclear and civil service facilities with a variety of threats and risks to mitigate.

    You would be working within a growing security consultancy within Tetra Tech, ensuring we deliver a full suite of services to our existing and new clients. Tasks could include advising on physical and electronic security systems, operational procedures, project delivery, and developing policy and guidance.

    This is a full-time role, although you may need to consult on operations that are running 24/7 and therefore be available outside of normal working hours. A variety of flexible working arrangements are available. You will be based at a single Tetra Tech office, with an expectation that many tasks will require a presence on site with the client.

    Responsibilities

    Your responsibilities could include:

    • Completing effective security assessments, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of any incidents, involvement in subsequent investigations and providing input into security committees or forums.
    • Ensuring all aspects of the required security services are being delivered to the customers’ satisfaction and in accordance with the contract.
    • Ensuring the sensitive nature of client information is managed appropriately, in line with contractual agreements or client policy.
    • Managing your list of clients, including providing support to existing initiatives as well as driving new business.
    • Managing project budgets in line with financial targets.
    • Developing professional customer relationships, responding appropriately to customer requests and concerns.
    • Completing monthly performance reports and billing schedules
    • Acting as a role model and always behaving in line with our company values.

    Skills and Experience

    We are looking to fill positions across a range of levels of experience and seniority from Graduate to Senior Consultant, and therefore we welcome applications from candidates with some or all of the skills listed below:

    • Practical experience of design and/or delivery of secure environments, facilities and security systems.
    • Proven ability to mitigate risks and develop security policies for diverse requirements.
    • Understanding of operational security and incident management.
    • Competent in use of Microsoft Office applications.
    • Working knowledge of the following software is preferred but not essential:
      • Bluebeam
      • Revit
      • AutoCad
    • Degree level qualification in relevant engineering, security or crime related discipline. Equivalent on the job experience is also welcomed.
    • Able to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) before appointment and able to achieve National Security Vetting in due course. This is required for all grades regardless of experience/seniority. Current SC or DV is an advantage.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Excellent organisational skills.
    • Track record of working in a fast-paced environment.
    • Normally resident in the UK and able to travel nationally to Client sites.
    • Willing to travel to our Bristol and London offices on a monthly basis.
