The role
UK Client Delivery comprises of a number of teams and functions covering Operations, IT and Business Change. Operations includes: Investment and Fund Services Operations (IFSO), Banking and Securities Services (BSO), Corporate Trustee Operations (CTO), Depositary Fiduciary Services (DFS), Business Implementation (BI) and Shared Services (SS). The primary objective of these combined teams is the execution of our operational business to create service excellence.
The work involves working to ensure the existence and effectiveness of the risk management framework in line with Metier standards and policies, regulatory obligations and market best practice.
It also incorporates Financial Security across CIB2S with responsibility for development, implementation and maintenance of First Line of Defence controls in line with Group and local requirements for payments, sanctions, wire transfer and KYC reporting requirements.
The team works closely with the business, Client Line & Client Development, Data Protection Office and other SPOCs to support the business in complying with risk mapping, the completion of the RCSA, the completion of Generic Control Plans and other risk mapping and control topics in line with Group and Metier policies and practices.
The OPC role exists to ensure that the operations environment is robust and to promote control & risk management as core components of the business culture.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
- Carry out investigation on major error or breach incidents, to identify weaknesses and propose remedial action
- To perform regular checks to make sure 1st level controls are performed according to their description and to confirm the adequacy of these controls
- Develop best practises within the operation
- Monitor compliance with the Control environment, by liaison with Operations departments, to ensure that outstanding internal audit, Compliance and risk register recommendations are completed in a timely manner
- Develop Management Information data to enable Operations management to monitor service delivery and run the division more efficiently
- Liaise with non-operations departments, including Compliance & Risk, Internal Audit and Finance, and build ties with other global locations
- Promote a strong control culture through a programme of workshops, communication, staff profiling and greater focus during the recruitment process

- Be informed on guidelines and policies and communicate these guidelines and policies to the concerned operational managers
Data & Framework
- Ensure the effective implementation and long term compliance with control related data & MI
- Be informed on security and remediation plans implementation
- Get an overall vision on Records of controls under his/her perimeter
Essential Requirements:
- Good understanding of the principles of risk management and the application of effective controls
- Good understanding of the UK Financial Services market

Desirable:
- Previously held a Control and/or Risk based role

- Good understanding of Securities Services’ systems, information flows, and processes
- Familiarity with CIB2S reporting requirements and tools e.g. ORUS, 360
- Risk and / or Regulatory Training/qualifications
