Role Description
This opportunity has emerged for an Application Packager to join our Infrastructure Chapter Operations team. In this role you will develop new application requests for our live estate, manage incident management and resolution for our internal users and liaise with your wider team to find the best solutions for our users. Through agile working practices, you will be working closely with infrastructure and security and network specialists to design solutions that meet business requirements. You will take responsibility for lifecycle upgrades/changes of applications, including the design and introduction of service improvements to deliver continuous improvement to the business and users. You will play a key role in future application packaging & development, introducing new applications to the estate and further transformation of applications as the technology platform evolves.
Who You Are
You’ll be comfortable working in a development, support, delivery, maintenance type role within the Applications Domain. You should be a good communicator and collaborator with a resolution mind-set, delivering the best service to our customers. Alongside this, the following skills with support your success in this role:
- Experience working in the IT industry within a complex organisation.
- Broad IT Knowledge such as; applications, presentation services, storage, networks, IT infrastructure, service level agreements and Asset management.
- Demonstrable planning and task management skills.
- Customer facing or customer management experience.
- Knowledge of development languages: ASP.NET, MVC, VB, C#, PHP, Java.
- Excellent Word, Excel, VISIO, PowerPoint skills, Office technologies.
- Knowledge of Powershell, App Volumes and windows MSI and MSIX packaging
- Understanding of; Service Oriented Architecture, Relational Database Architectures, Multi-tier Application Architectures.
- Excellent discovery skills for software installation / compatibility / removal.
- Strong documentation skills with a good attention to detail.
Additional Security Information
Due to the sensitive nature of much of the work, all applicants must be eligible for UK MoD Security Clearance (SC level minimum).
