An excellent opportunity has arisen for an individual to join as a Junior Product Line Manager in the Thales UK Optronics & Missile Electronics (OME) organisation, supporting to the ongoing development of the Land, Naval and Air products and services.
With formal and informal training the post holder will support the development of the OME Strategic Business Plan, support the defining and executing of product policies and
The post holder will be required to liaise with the Sales and Marketing functions within the business as well as working closely with the Strategy and Product Management Teams.
The Post Holder Will Contribute to
- Support the Development of Product Policy according to future market needs and technical maturity
- Provide support to UK OME Product Line Plan(s), Product Plan(s) and Business Case(s) including helping :
- Defining accessible and target market segments
- Managing the financing plan
- Managing product cost (both recurring and non-recurring)
- Determining of target sales price per market segment
- Managing market entry, including introduction strategy and exit timing
- Forecasting Product Line(s) and Product(s) sales volumes in conjunction with Sales, Business Development and Business Leads
- Undertaking competitor analysis
- Identifying potential suppliers and partners make/team/buy scenarios
- Identifying constraints and SWOT
- Researching market requirements in conjunction with Sales and Business Development (including target customers, bids, operational needs, global and accessible market size, etc
- Undertaking Product definition (product roadmap, TRL, reuse of building blocks, etc)
Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Personal Qualities

Below are some of the desirable skills, experience and personal attributes we are looking for:
- Degree in Business or Engineering discipline, equivalent relevant professional qualification or relevant experience
- Knowledge and exposure in Defence or adjacent Markets.
Relevant experience may include:
- Product Management
- Marketing of products
- Understanding and ability to analyse markets
- Knowledge of defence markets
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex matters to other technical and non-technical audiences in a compelling manner
