An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic graduate to join the Clinical Trials and Statistics Unit at The Institute of Cancer Research, one of the world's leading cancer research institutions, as a Research Assistant supporting cutting-edge trials methodology research.
The successful candidate will provide research support to a range of methodology projects related to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and Patient & Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) in clinical trials. The post-holder will play a key part in delivering our strategy of conducting inclusive research, championing purposeful and inclusive patient and public involvement. The candidate will work with the EDI and PPIE Leads at ICR-CTSU and will be expected to support developing grant applications and publications in these areas.
Key requirements
Applications are invited for a 12-month full-time Research Assistant position at Clinical Trials and Statistics Unit at The Institute of Cancer Research. The role would suit a graduate looking for a chance to further a career in academic research before pursuing a Master's or PhD. The candidate requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The role may be offered as a secondment from an applicant’s CTU for a period of 1 year.
As this post is also offered as a secondment, applicants will be considered on the basis that prior agreement to apply has been sought from your current line manager.

ICR-CTSU manages an exciting portfolio of national and international phase II and III clinical trials and an expanding number of early phase I/II cancer trials. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team on trial inclusivity, patient and public involvement and methodology research.

Appointment will be on a fixed term contract for 1 year. This is an office based role. Requests for hybrid working (splitting time between our Sutton site and home) may be considered following successful completion of key training and if the role allows. Flexible working options may be considered.
