    We have a fantastic opportunity for a Buyer to join our Team!

    You’ll be a key member of the Physical Goods Buying Team and supporting the Category Manager.

    You’ll be responsible for

    • Raising purchase requisitions and purchase orders
    • Building strong relationships with MTC’s suppliers, negotiating prices, and ensuring we’re getting the best level of service.
    • Adhering to all policies and procedures
    • Communicating clearly with the Goods-In department to ensure arrival and distribution to relevant department 
    • Tracking and expediting purchase orders by working with suppliers and carriers.
    • Reacting efficiently and effectively to any unforeseen issues created both internally and externally.
    • Accurately maintain our ERP system, spreadsheets, databases and records of information to ensure the smooth running of processes.
    • Generate reports to identify delivery deadlines are being met.
    • Liaise with finance and other business functions related to the end-to-end procurement process.
    • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and promoting the services of the Procurement Team across the MTC Group.

    This role will suit a team player with some previous experience of working in a procurement team. You’ll have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a good level of knowledge of MS office tools such as Word and Excel, as well as good literacy and numeracy.

    You’ll ideally be working towards your CIPS, or willing to work towards CIPS qualification.

    We’re also looking for somebody with

    • Strong commercial acumen and experience of negotiating.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships quickly.
    • Previous experience using ERP systems.
    • Familiarity with Incoterms preferred but not essential.
    • R&D, aerospace or automotive experience preferred but not essential.
    • A full UK Driving Licence and willing to travel if needed.

    MTC offer flexible working –however, will be required to be in the office at Ansty Park on regular occasions.
