The Marketing Officer will report to the Senior Marketing Manager and work closely with the Marketing & Commercial team to ensure the smooth delivery of all aspects of the team’s output.

Assisting the Deputy Head of Marketing and Senior Marketing Manager in delivering marketing and sales campaigns to maximise income, achieve targets and increase/diversify audiences. Supporting the Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Marketing & Insights to effectively manage the team through providing administrative support across a variety of projects and act as the main Marketing point of contact for the Education & Community team.

Areas of responsibility

Marketing

  • To lead the delivery of marketing and sales campaigns for allocated productions (such as A Christmas Carol) and one-off or special events
  • To lead marketing campaigns and asset creation for Education & Community projects and sharings
  • To assist the Marketing & Commercial Team in implementing creative marketing campaigns for all Old Vic productions
  • To support the Marketing & Commercial Team in ensuring that opportunities for diversifying The Old Vic’s audiences are maximised
  • To assist the Deputy Head of Marketing and Senior Marketing Manager in the production of Old Vic production programmes e.g. sourcing and editing cast and creative team biographies
  • To lead on reciprocal relationships with other venues
  • To organise events in relation to campaigns such as ticket agent nights
  • Update listings (e.g SOLT access listings)
  • To assist the Marketing & Commercial team with general administration which includes but is not limited to setting up ticket offers, managing diaries, booking couriers for distribution, arranging and minuting meetings and managing agreed actions.

Digital

  • To support the Head of Marketing in updating and maintaining the content on The Old Vic website including writing and editing copy and sourcing images.

General Duties

  • To be the first point of contact within the organisation for general marketing queries and to field these to the appropriate person within the team
  • To work with Design team on front of house vinyls, season posters and FOH screens
  • To raise purchase orders, administer and file invoices and manage the credit card statement for the Marketing & Commercial team
  • To proofread print and online material as required
  • To monitor and, when appropriate, respond to the marketing email inbox
  • To keep up to date with all relevant training for Tessitura.

This is not an exhaustive list of duties and the Theatre's management may, at any time, allocate other tasks which are of a similar nature or level.

About you

The post holder must be able to demonstrate the following:

Essential

  • Proven experience at a junior level in a marketing team
  • Good attention to detail and ability to proofread.
  • Able to proactively manage concurrent projects to tight deadlines in an environment with competing demands
  • Knowledge of box office and ticketing systems
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively.

The process

The recruitment process for this role will be two stages:
