The Royal Opera House continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming and social media to worldwide cinema screenings. The work of our Audiences and Media Department focuses on growing the love, advocacy and demand for the art presented by the Royal Opera House, so that we can also grow our audience-generated revenues.
We are looking for an Assistant Content Producer to support the Content team in creating, checking and managing content for the Royal Opera House`s digital and print outputs, including our website, other digital platforms and printed brochures/programmes.
This role will work on a range of designated content projects such as seasonal campaigns and visitor experiences for a range of audiences including young people and members. They will also provide broad assistance across the team to ensure ROH content is accurate, engaging and published to assigned timeframes.
About you
The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player, who is used to working in a deadline sensitive and evolving environment to extremely high standards of accuracy and attention to detail. They will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience of content development and delivery using software for digital and print publishing including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign), or transferable skills
- Some experience of researching and fact-checking information for print and digital platforms
- Proficiency with a range of tools for managing digital content, including working with text, images and AV (E.g., Prismic, WordPress or similar content management systems and databases)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, able to fact check against authoritative sources, proofread to a high standard and follow best practice procedures
- Some experience of using online content platforms (Flickr, YouTube or similar)
- Knowledge of accessible practices and creation of accessible content would be an advantage
- Experience of audience research and understanding user needs would be an advantage
Additional information
In-depth knowledge of opera and ballet is not essential, as you will be working in a team that includes subject matter specialists. An interest in the arts, humanities and culture and the ability and interest to develop understanding and knowledge of content related subject matter will be highly regarded.
