We currently have a great opportunity for a Workplace Designer to join our Workplace Design and Planning team. The main emphasis is developing the design brief from initial client meeting, producing technical space plan and layouts, the detailing up of a room, fittings and accessories. Producing 3D visuals for presentation purposes and visiting clients alongside sales managers to communicate design layout concept.
This is great opportunity would suit a 3rd year Interior Design student or recent graduate, with a passion for interior design and space planning, where you can learn and develop your design / technical skills within a fast paced global furniture manufacturer.
The successful appointment will undertake a comprehensive 6-12-month training programme, supported by our in-house team of Interior design experts.
The role
- Design and create accurate, detailed workplace and office space planning in Vectorworks for a diverse range of clients, providing solutions to design problems and generate design alternatives.
- Prepare project specifications for quotation, including design concept, material selection and space planning.
- Initiate research activities in accordance to project requirements.
- Produce presentations, briefing documents and concept design packs for review, discussion and feedback.
- Collection and analyses of data and requirements collated from stakeholders and analyse this to create layout plans or briefing documents.
- Collating briefing information and directing consultants from concept design to site delivery by anticipating business requirements.
- Collaborating with internal functions on planning and implementing office occupation and moves.
- Build strong relationships with Internal departments, Sales Managers and Customers to ensure high levels of service.
- Acting as primary design interface with clients and attend client & site meetings as required.
The person
- Strong interest in space planning / design working on commercial projects.
- Able to develop knowledge of commercial office furniture products and interior design trends.
- Work well under pressure, manage own time to meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Influential personality with strong ability to build business relationships with Internal stakeholders and customers.
- Excellent communication & presentation skills.
- Proficient with AutoCAD, Sketch Up and Adobe suites.
- Vectorworks experience is strongly preferred.
- Interior Design degree or working towards.
