Our 12-month work placement will provide you with all round experience of Five Star Hospitality. With rotations in key departments (including Food & Beverage, Front of House, Housekeeping, Sales & Marketing), you will gain core skills and experience to begin your hospitality career. Further to this, you will have opportunity to present your ideas for change to the General Manager and Leadership Team and will be asked to project manage them through to delivery.

About us
The Grand was originally built in 1906 as a ‘Palace of Business’ for one of the most powerful railway companies in Edwardian England. The Grand, York is part of Splendid Hospitality Group and only a few minutes' walk from York Railway Station. There are also great bus links from all areas of the city.
About you
- You’re currently studying towards a degree ideally in either Hospitality or similar
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Resourceful and committed
- Able to influence at all levels
- Able to work cross functionally and collaboratively on key projects
- Confident to learn new systems, however must be able to use Microsoft Office (inc Word, Excel & Powerpoint)
- The Right to work in the UK
