The opportunity

A UX Designer ensures that people using a service can do what they need to do, when they need to do it, in a way that is easy for them. We are seeking a passionate and eager-to-learn Junior UX Designer to join our growing team. You will collaborate closely with researchers, digital marketeers, UI designers, developers, project managers, and account managers to deliver user-centred solutions that are both accessible and usable.

Your role

  • Contribute to usability and web accessibility audits: Analyse and make recommendations to ensure that digital outputs are usable and accessible usable to all.
  • Collaborate on the development of user personas and user journeys: Work with the team to create representative user profiles and map out user interactions with our products.
  • Contribute to information architecture and sitemap design: Learn how to organise content effectively and create intuitive navigation systems.

Assist in the creation of wireframes and prototypes

  • Develop low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes to visualise design solutions and test their usability.
  • Participate in design reviews and critiques: Share your work and receive constructive feedback from senior designers, while also learning to provide thoughtful feedback to others. You will not be required to carry out UI Design tasks as we have a separate Design team.

Work closely with a crossfunctional team

  • Collaborate with UI designers, developers, digital marketing, and product managers to ensure design solutions align with business goals.
  • Contribute to the overall design process: Be a flexible and adaptable team player, willing to assist with various design tasks as needed.
  • Stay up to date with the latest UX trends and best practices:
  • Actively seek out opportunities to learn and expand your knowledge of UX design principles, trends, tools, and methodologies, and apply this knowledge to continuously improve your skills.
  • Be a passionate advocate for the user: Champion user needs and strive to create user-centered designs.

Contribute to the overall design process

  • Be a flexible and adaptable team player, willing to assist with various design tasks as needed.

The ideal changemaker

  • A strong passion for user experience and a desire to learn and grow (internship or personal projects are highly valued).
  • Basic understanding of user-centred design principles and methodologies.
  • Self-starter and self-learner, keen to acquire and share knowledge and skills, and stay up to date with the latest techniques and thinking in UX.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with design tools, for example, Figma and Adobe XD.
  • A portfolio showcasing your design skills (academic projects and personal work are welcome).
  • A degree or diploma in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field is a plus, but not required if you have a strong portfolio and demonstrable passion.
