The University of Manchester’s Wellbeing Team, sitting within the Advice and Response Team, is looking for a passionate and highly skilled Assistant Project Officer to join our team and provide support across the areas of student support, wellbeing and for Care Experienced and Estranged students.
The role
You will be joining a dedicated and experienced team of colleagues who are committed both to providing first class support to students and also to delivering proactive wellbeing initiatives. You will be working closely alongside the Advice and Response Project Officer and existing Assistant Project Officer, as well as providing support to Manchester Graduate Talent colleagues. You will also work closely with other colleagues within the DSE and across the University.
You will co-manage queries received via the studentsupport@manchester.ac.uk inbox and online chat function and will meet with students who are experiencing issues and concerns around matters relating to their wellbeing. You will also oversee the www.studentsupport.manchester.ac.uk website and deliver workshops, presentations and wellbeing activities to staff and students on a regular basis. The role also involves contributing to the University's Access, Student Success and Development Strategy and Access and Participation Plan (APP) commitments and targets through specialised and ongoing support of Care Experienced and Estranged students. You will also support senior colleagues in the delivery of the Division’s strategic priorities that will enhance the student experience.
About you
We expect applicants to have experience in a similar role at the same level, which may have been gained in Higher Education or a related field. We additionally expect applicants to be sensitive to the complexity and nuance of cases the Division handles, and to seek to engage in continued professional development in this area.
