    We are looking for an ambitious Inside Sales Representative to join our sales team in the UK.

    As an Inside Sales Representative you will be a key member of our Genetic Analysis sales team serving our Biotech and Research customers in one of our UK territories.  This role is focused on rapidly growing our market leading consumables portfolio of qPCR/CE Sequencing and Microarray solutions. To achieve success you will need to forge positive relationships within the existing customer base and develop new business opportunities.

    The role

    This is an office-based role at our Inchinnan, Paisley office (near Glasgow), with the option to work from home 1 day per week.  Your primary method of contact with customers is phone and digital solutions.  Field visits will be part of the role and successful candidates will be encouraged to travel within territory at least once a month to develop relationships with our customers and prospect for new business.

    Inside Sales Representatives act as a trusted commercial point of contact and work closely with our field-based sales, service and support teams to bring our innovative workflows to our customers.  Your contribution to growing customer satisfaction and loyalty will be key to driving the overall commercial success of the UK genetic analysis business.

    This role is ideal for a Life Sciences graduate with some laboratory or customer-facing experience, who wants to pursue a sales career at a global company.  Our organization is developing and we guarantee an interesting and challenging position, in an international environment.  We will provide full product and sales training to develop your selling skills and ensure your success in the role.

    What will you do

    • Achieve the agreed sales targets for our Genetic Analysis consumables solutions
    • Identify and close sales opportunities
    • Prospect for new business opportunities
    • Build internal/external networks and maximise collaboration via our CRM system
    • Utilise account and territory planning tools
    • Forecasting large deal pipeline and run rate business
    • Develop appropriate selling skills consistent with Thermo Fisher Scientific philosophy, policies, and procedures
    • Travel up to 20% of working time (c. once per month) within sales territory and attend regular off site internal meetings

    Who we are looking for

    • A degree in a Life Science
    • Any kind of work experience outside of your degree: Laboratory-based work, sales/telesales/retail sales or customer service experience in any industry all of particular interest
    • Commercial mindset, with a genuine desire to work in a sales role
    • Knowledge of the Genetic Analysis workflow and market
    • Positive attitude and desire to succeed
    • Strong communicator and confident personality; able to engage and influence at all levels
    • Fluent in English
    • Digital literacy in MS Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint or similar programs required
