    The Compliance Editorial Team focuses on connecting our customers' business to the ever- changing regulatory environment. Our customers include compliance, audit, and legal functions in banking, financial services, law firms, regulators, insurance, healthcare, and other industries subject to regulatory change.

    Our compliance products consist of a library of legal and regulatory content from different jurisdictions around the world, that clients use to ensure they satisfy their regulatory and legal obligations and a stream of event monitoring to ensure they stay current with the latest developments.

    The Regulatory Compliance Writer provides regulatory and compliance interpretation in the form of analysis, writing, and research, to support the acquisition and/or production of compliance information, data, and products for Thomson Reuters Regulatory Intelligence.

    About the role

    In this opportunity as Regulatory Compliance Writer, your responsibilities include research and analysis to support content creation and preparation, monitoring of trends and developments within assigned topical areas, and troubleshooting of content and production issues. 

    Regulatory Research, Writing & Analysis

    • Analyzes laws and rules and writes plain-English synopsis summarizing compliance requirements
    • Reviews and edits compliance and regulatory information
    • Identifies key regulatory and compliance issues

    Editorial Responsibility

    • Follows editorial publishing schedules and quality standards
    • Verifies own work as required for accuracy, completeness, and quality
    • Maintains and develops compliance and regulatory knowledge and skills and stays current on regulatory and compliance trends and developments

    Individual and Leadership Development

    • Participates in the employee evaluation process, including feedback and self-evaluation
    • Learns and grows from on-the job experiences, the wider team, courses, self-study, and quality control processes

    Scope and Impact

    • Prioritizes own work, and participates in prioritization of team workload
    • Identifies compliance customer needs and regulatory requirements

    About you

    To be considered for the role you will have:

    • Graduate holding a UK Law Degree and/or legal professional qualification
    • Strong legal research, writing and analytical skills
    • Ability to take complex legal material and make this understandable for people who are not lawyers
    • Exceptional attention to detail
    • Ability to prioritize tasks / projects
    • Works collaboratively across teams
    • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively
    • Any relevant experience (work experience, internships, etc) gained within a legal profession, legal research, or compliance environment would be highly advantageous
    • Experience in the banking/financial services industry or in compliance for those industries preferred
